How to work on your "git commit windows" and escape when you are done with "Initial commit"

After you must have done your

git add filename.html

And gotten to the git commit section, after typing

git commit

And tapping the "enter" key on your keyboard a new windows will appear, don't be scared.

On the new windows, you would see informations like this with # hashtags

# on branch master

# Initial commit

On your keyboard tap the "i" key this will enable you to edit your commit windows and after that.

Go to the # just before the "Initial commit" and delete the #. Your windows information should look like this now

# on branch master

Initial commit

Now on your keyboard tap the "esc" escape key just beside your f1 key. This should place your cursor at the bottom of your screen. Now type

:wq

After typing this tap the "enter" key on your keyboard. This should take you back to your git bash.

But if this doesn't work, that's after typing ":wq". Kindly tap on the "esc" key on your keyboard and type

:x!

And press the "enter" key on your keyboard and this will definately take you back to your git bash area.

Congratulatuon

You are now ready to push your folder to GitHub.

Changing your Emoji on slack, an ABC guild.

When you are logged in into your slack profile

Click on the three dots on the right side of your phone screen or profile and click on edit your status. 

Under "edit your status" click on the emoji face and when it appears at the top, click on it again and a search windows will appear, type in either "one" or "two" "depending on the emoji you want to use" bunch of emoji's will appears select your prefered emoji.

Below the emoji remove the "clear after" by clicking on it and select "don't clear" and save. You are good to go.

How to push your web file to GithHub with ease.

(Firstly, let's cd (change directory) into your folder your website page is stored. So type)

cd ~

(This will take you away from your root folder.)

cd desktop or documents

(This depends on where you stored your folder that contians the webpage you plan on sending to GitHub)

cd nameoffolder

(This will take you into the folder you stored your .HTML, .js or .py file.)

git init

(Will create a .git file in your folder)

git add webfilename.html

(This will add your .html file)

git status

(This will check status of working tree)

git commit

(Will help with updating your file)

(Remember if you are sending the file for the very first time you will have to)

git remote add origin "repo link".git

(Your repo link can be gotten from your repo folder you created on GitHub copy the link and paste it after the "add origin" don't forget to add the .git at the end)

git push -u origin master

( This will pushed either your file or document to github if it's your first time pushing the file)


     UPDATING YOUR GITHUB REPO

(If you edited your code on your IDE and you want to update it on you GitHub repo, so that your code is up to date)

git add filename.html

git commit

git push.

ABC on how to create your READMe.md file on gitbash for Github.

How to create a readme.md or readme.txt file on your github repository. Two methods.

In your git bash if you are in your current directory desktop/foldername that contians your HTML file

Touch readme.md

(Now in your git bash still in your current directory type)

cd READMe.md

This will get you into your READMe.md file and then you type

Git add readme.md

(Go to the folder you created and stored your firstname.html file and you will see the readme.md file, open it on your IDE and type in the links and other info, then type)

Git commit

Git push

2. Second Method

You simply create a readme.txt file in the same folder where your firstname.html file is created 

You open it in your IDE (sublime or any ide of your choice)

Type in the links and other info into the readme.txt 

Head to your git bash

Git add readme.txt

Git commit (If a new windows pops up press the "i" key on your keyboard so you can be able to type, you type in "Initial commit" and press the "esc" key on your keyboard and type ":wq" 

This will commit your file then you type

Git push

Git push.
